New Work
by
Camille Doucet

These are details from 2 of Camille's original watercolors based on birds of Central New York.
Although a French native from Quebec, Canada, Camille has called the green hills of NY state home for the last 22 years. Here she continues the art adventure that started a long time ago in her childhood kitchen. She had a conversion experience from oil to watercolor some 15 years ago and soon after started teaching painting privately, through the Community School of Music and Art in Ithaca, NY and later through Cornell University. She free lances for different departments of Cornell and responds favorably to painting commisions. She paints as a way to conjure up the hopefulness that spring from the natural world. Camille received the O'Hern Memorial Award from the Arnot Museum in Elmira, NY and she is the president of the GNSI-Finger Lakes (the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators), and leads summer outdoor workshops and classes.
